This Christian does not hate LGBTQ people

I have been avoiding writing anything on this subject as it feels like we are continuing to beat a dead horse that has been dead for years.

Social media does not however seem to want to leave the issues alone. I see people changing their profile pictures to a rainbow filtered images of themselves to support the gay marriage decision by the US supreme court.

I have no hate in my heart for LGBTQ people. I love them as children of God with their own unique challenges. I also know that God loves them and has no hate in his heart for them. Comments in social media seem to reflect that Christians are all haters and hate everyone who is LGBTQ and they are all bigoted anti gay, haters whose only desires are to oppress the LGBTQ community and revoke their rights. I won’t deny that there are many people who claim to be Christians that behave in such a manner.

Given all of this I feel that I need to put my own thoughts in on this vitally important issue that is facing the world today. God’s doctrine of marriage cannot change without God himself declaring it so. The LDS church of which I am a member recently made a statement in response to this legalization of gay marriage.

“The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints acknowledges that following today’s ruling by the supreme court, same-sex marriages are now legal in the united states. The court’s decision does not alter the Lords doctrine that marriage is a union between a man and a woman ordained by God. While showing respect for those that think differently, the church will continue to teach and promote marriage between a man and a woman as a central part of our doctrine and practice”

God’s doctrine is that marriage is a union between man and woman and cannot be anything but a joining of 2 people of opposite gender. This does not include trans men marrying a man after he changes to a woman or a trans woman marrying a woman after she changes to a man.  For myself I cannot ever consider anyone married outside of this definition of marriage as married.

With this in mind I cannot stress enough how much gay couples have no impact on my personal relationship with my wife. My marriage is not so fragile that the idea of 2 gay people having the kind of relationship that I have with my wife threatens our relationship in any way or the sanctity of it. My marriage to my wife is sacred and unique. Nor do I have any desire to force or compel others to recognize my relationship as a marriage. I don’t need anyone Else’s approval. Not the governments, nor my family, not my co workers or public approval. The only approval I need is my wife’s and Gods. When it comes to defining my relationship with my wife they are the only 2 whose opinion has any bearing on the status of our relationship other than mine.

I have no desire to stand in the way of 2 people who love each other, regardless of gender, from having a relationship of any kind, nor should our government stand in their way. But I ask what has this really changed? LGBTQ people were in relationships that were for all intents and purposes that of a married couple before this decision? They still were living together. They were still sexually active with each other. They were still engaging in all the behaviors of those that are in heterosexual relationships are.

Anti gay marriage opponents have often talked about the destruction of the sanctity of marriage. The problem with this kind of statement is that the sanctity of marriage had been torn apart and mocked long before the gay marriage issue ever came up. Marriage rates have been declining for decades and divorce rates have been rising. This is not LGBTQ Peoples fault or liability. It is our now  godless society. In Canada you don’t have to get married to be considered married. You just have live together for 6 months.

LGBTQ Peoples should not require the government’s permission to be wed. It is not their or the public business how they live or who they are sexually active with. This problem exists because we allow the government  to define our relationships to begin with.

God has declared that marriage is a union between 1 man and 1 woman. No amount of public pressure, government or supreme court declarations, accusations of homophobia or bigotry will change that.

That is what I believe and accept as marriage. I wont force you to accept that. I wont harass you and accuse you of being a God hater and anti Christian bigot for disagreeing with me. I won’t accuse you of pushing some kind of LGBTQ agenda on me and forcing your beliefs on me. I hope that you and others like you would show the same respect. I am not a bigot. I am not a homophobe. I am not a hater of LGBTQ people. I simply have a different definition and belief about marriage than you do. And you know what. That is perfectly fine. We are not going to agree. You need to remember however that you forcing me to accept your idea of marriage is no different from what you accuse many Christians of doing, forcing their beliefs on you. When the arm of the government conforms to a religious definition (or non religious) of marriage however, that is forcing a select group of societies religious (or non religious) principles on everyone else. Laws should only exist to protect the liberty and freedom of others. No law, however well-meaning, should exist to prohibit or ban behaviors or actions that do not harm others. Laws concerning what is and what is not a marriage do just that. They restrict what is accepted and what is not accepted when it comes to relationships between consenting adults. These relationships pose no harm to others. At least no secular harm as the spiritual consequences cannot be measured or enforced via secular governments. So long as they are consensual.

LGBTQ people should be respected and have all the same rights as everyone else. So much of this debate has been focused not on whether they have the right to be together and have a relationship. They have had that right all along. It was never taken from them. No gay person was ever denied the right to marry one of the opposite gender, just as every straight person has had that right. A straight person could not legally marry one of the same gender any more than the gay person could.  What this has been about is seeking recognition of their relationships. LGBTQ people have been seeking all the legal recognition and benefits of straight couples. Something they should have had all long. It is not up to the government to decide what is or is not a legally recognized relationships. They should not be defining such things to begin with.

This decision does not change the definition of marriage, but it does bring some equality to same-sex couples. It’s sad however that they felt they needed the governments blessing to begin with.
Our relationships are ours and ours alone. When we focus on love and mutual respect we will be happier for it. I call on all Christians to reach out to our LGBTQ neighbors with love and respect. Don’t preach to them about how they are living in sin or that god hates them or that they don’t have the relationship they say they have. Rather preach the love of Christ and show them how they ought to live.

If asked by a gay couple if I accept them to be married I would simply say something like this. “I believe marriage to be a union between one man and one woman. However I recognize that you are in a loving relationship and I won’t stand in your way to be whoever you want to be. Your happiness is no less important than mine or anyone else”

It is not our place to judge them or enforce our ways on them. We need to stand firm in our faith and preach love and respect for all regardless if they are living according to God’s gospel or not. We bring people to Christ with love and respect not hatred and intolerance. As Christ once said

“Let him who is without sin first cast a stone”.

And that is the gospel according to Andrew

All Public Mass Shooters Are Innocent!!

The recent mass shooting in south Carolina at a church saw 9 people die by the latest report that I have seen. This is a tragic event that could have been avoided. Naturally the cry of more gun control comes from our political leaders making this into a political issue. They want us to believe that if we just got tougher on who we allow to have guns this whole thing could have been avoided. Our politicians will play on your emotions and fears to manipulate you in to giving up your freedom all for the sake of being in a safer society.

This is complete nonsense and plays on your emotions and fears and fails to address the real problem of mass violence and criminal activity that plagues america and Canada alike. 41 people a day are murdered in America. On one day 9 die by a gun.  This is just talking about murder rates only, the violent crimes per day are statistically much higher.

It is clear that the US has a violent crime issues that need to be addressed. However Guns are not the problem. In essentially every mass public shooting one thing is in common. We don’t know how much this applies to other violent crimes because only gun crime gets reported on national news on a regular basis. From watching the news you might think that is the only way violent crime happens.

You can read in my post Drug Induced Insanity that it is clear that the side effects of  prescriptions psychiatric drugs that violence is a clear side effect of these drugs. I had also listed several other cases of mass public violence induced by people on drugs. Gun crime is not the only way mental health patients on drugs commit acts of severe violence. We just don’t hear about all the acts of sever public violence induced by big pharma drug culture because it would contradict the message we are force-fed by the media. The message is guns are bad and must be taken out of our society.

If guns kill people and not Big Pharma as we are constantly told to believe, why are there not so much more deaths related to guns? Why is it every time  a cop kills someone the victim is blamed? Police shoot and kill several hundred people a year yet we never blame the gun when the cop shoots to kill innocents, or military guns kill innocents. Usually we blame the victim for not complying with cops order. Where is the call for more gun control when police brutality kills innocent victims?  Rather when a cop is killed in the line of duty he is hailed as a hero. No one stops to evaluate whether the one who killed the cops was acting in defense of his rights. The actions of the dead cop are not talked about or questioned. It’s almost as if our media holds up police on some golden altar of perfection and they can do no wrong.

These people are not killing people because they have a gun. They are killing people because they have been drugged into submission and there minds are being destroyed and warped. There emotions and inhibitions are being destroyed to the point that they lose all self-control and will power of their own. They go to their counseling sessions to “talk about their feelings and how they imagine working them out” All the while on mind control drugs where they are subjected to this discussion which lead to carrying out their heinous crimes. Psychiatrist and big pharma are just as guilty of killing these innocents as the people themselves. I would even go so far as to say that the perpetrators are not even capable of understanding what they are doing because they have had their minds and thoughts chemically manipulated to the point where they no longer have control over their own actions. I know because the same thing happened to me. I to acted out in violence and nearly killed my brother when I was 14. But here is the thing. I did not use a gun. I used a knife, was arrested and prosecuted for doing so. No one ever asked about the drugs I was on. No one thought to analyze if the drugs had somehow influenced my behavior. I was pressured into assuming all guilt for the crime and pleading guilty in court. I was sentenced. I was kept on the drugs. That was not my first nor was it my last violent outburst either.  I was not guilty of that crime. I was not in control of my behavior or mind. The drugs were. The doctors were. Big Pharma was. I nearly killed a member of my own family because of these lethal and dangerous drugs. These victims of big pharma killed others innocents because of these drugs.

It is time to end the war on Guns. Guns are not the problem. Drugs and psycho manipulations of the vulnerable are the problem! It is Big Pharma who is committing mass crime by inflicting this on the masses and caused innocent to die at the hands of mind altering, mind manipulating drugs and it must stop!! It is big Pharma that is guilty of the killing of innocent at the end of a gun barrel. It is Big pharma that must be brought to justice to answer for the deaths of so many innocents. It is big pharma that must be charged with the murder of these people and every other victim of mass public shootings including the shooters themselves. As we all know, drugs cannot be used as a defense in court, thus big pharma escapes any scrutiny and responsibility for its crimes against humanity and will continue to cause people to kill and murder innocents while their (big pharma’s) victims take all the blame. We pat our selves on the back by appearing to do something and and say to ourselves justice is served and good job. In the mean time some other poor victim is planning his next crime with a gun only for the same old story to resurface and the cycle continue. What will they do when all the guns are gone and mass murders are still happening? I guess we will just move on to the next weapon of choice.

I am so tired of hearing about this and big pharma’s roll being ignored by the mass media. If they wont talk about it then I will. It disgusts me. It sickens me. It its revolting to me. Its time for the masses to rise up against big pharma. Stop buying into their drugs. Stop letting our children be manipulated and poisoned by them. Stop voting for any candidate that does not support ceasing all government ties to big pharma. Stop the senseless murder of our families by Drug lords that are using mental health patients to carry out their heinous and evil crimes!

can grace alone save us?

Throughout the christian world and many different denominations of the christian faith it is commonly held as truth that we can be saved by grace alone. Simply by declaring a belief in Christ we can be saved from our sins.

This is an amazing and fantastic idea. It is so simple yet so far from the truth that it is dangerous for anyone to hold such a view and be saved as most Christians would term it. If it were really that simple to save you from your sins simply by proclaiming a belief in Christ, then living a Christ like life becomes meaningless.

This declaration of such a simple way to be saved is from the book of Ephesians chapter 2 vs 8-9

For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Not of works, lest any man should boast.

The problem with taking something as doctrine based on 2 verses in the bible which contains thousands of verses of doctrine is that you won’t and cannot understand the full doctrine based on such a small amount of scripture. I hope to bring some further understanding to this to explain why you cannot be simply be saved by grace alone.

Before I get to into that however, I think it is important to understand what grace is and how it Applies to our lives when it comes to achieving that ultimate reward of salvation. By ourselves we cannot hope to achieve perfection or that heavenly reward our father in heaven has in store for us. Christ our redeemer and savior suffered in Gethsemane and died on the cross so that we might have the chance to come to live with our father in heaven again. The grace he bestows upon us is that grace which ultimately in the end save us. The bible dictionary defines grace.

“A word that occurs frequently in the New Testament, especially in the writings of Paul. The main idea of the word is divine means of help or strength, given through the bounteous mercy and love of Jesus Christ.

It is through the grace of the Lord Jesus, made possible by His atoning sacrifice, that mankind will be raised in immortality, every person receiving his body from the grave in a condition of everlasting life. It is likewise through the grace of the Lord that individuals, through faith in the Atonement of Jesus Christ and repentance of their sins, receive strength and assistance to do good works that they otherwise would not be able to maintain if left to their own means. This grace is an enabling power that allows men and women to lay hold on eternal life and exaltation after they have expended their own best efforts.

Divine grace is needed by every soul in consequence of the Fall of Adam and also because of man’s weaknesses and shortcomings. However, grace cannot suffice without total effort on the part of the recipient. Hence the explanation, “It is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do” (2 Ne. 25:23). It is truly the grace of Jesus Christ that makes salvation possible. This principle is expressed in Jesus’ parable of the vine and the branches (John 15:1–11). See also John 1:12–17; Eph. 2:8–9; Philip. 4:13; D&C 93:11–14.”

The idea that one can live a life of sin and transgression against the laws of God and somehow be saved in the kingdom of heaven simply by professing a belief in Christ is not the doctrine of God, but as far as this blogger is concerned, is the doctrine of the Devil. It is a sweet sounding lie designed to lure away the believers to live a life of indulgence under the false idea that all will be well if they just profess belief. This is a Dangerous lie and should not be accepted or tolerated in any christian household or anyone who professes belief in the doctrine of God.

If we can be saved through grace alone, why then is there a need for repentance of any kind? Why the guilt at sin we commit in our lives. Why the need for church, scriptures, living a good life, loving our neighbour and keeping the commandments. All of this is meaningless if all we must do to be saved in the kingdom of God is to confess our faith and then go on our merry way. Wouldn’t that be nice. It would sure make life a lot easier. Faith is more than just professing a belief however. James explained it quite well in the book of James.

  • James 2:26

26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

  • James 2:20-22

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

  •  21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

  • James 2:18

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

As we read in Ephesians works cannot save us, but neither can faith alone. Simply doing good works but having no faith is just as bad as proclaiming faith and doing no works. Works or good deeds must be done with an eye single to the glory of God. Done selfishly without faith driving them but personal gain and glory does not save you.

What it comes down to is that we must not only act or do works but we must also have faith. The 2 combined will bring to pass our salvation after all we can do and after the grace of God as we are imperfect beings that cannot abide perfection without the grace of God

And that is the Gospel According To Andrew
